As the popularity of the Skye Trail increases we are commonly asked in the shop about various sections of it. This is primarily the Trotternish Ridge (sensational ridge walk but lots of up and down we usually say!).

One other section that we also get asked about, almost as much as the Trotternish Ridge, is that next section from the Storr to Portree. Of the three options presented (including the road) taking the Coastal Path from the Storr to Portree is the far more rewarding one. It really is a fantastic route and well worth the effort - the word path could be a bit misleading though as it is not all that well defined at times and care would be required when navigating in the mist!

Anyway we decided to revisit this section recently on a fine and sunny Skye day to photograph the route and give you some idea of what to expect (just don't expect the good weather!).
